Brand identity is the most undervalued asset in a young engineering company. It is also the easiest to default on — to settle for safe, generic and forgettable. When we redesigned our identity, we made one decision that shaped every other: the mark itself had to communicate the work, not decorate it. What follows is the story of how that decision led us to Morse code.
A Quiet Monday Morning
It began the way most consequential decisions do, without any sense of consequence. The leadership team was reviewing the company's image and brand. The existing logo was technically competent and commercially safe, but it no longer communicated what the work had become. We had outgrown the symbol.
What we needed was a mark that reflected what we actually do every day: connect people, businesses and ideas through technology and do it with engineering precision. The brief was simple. The execution took longer.
An Unconventional Suggestion
Halfway through a long discussion of stylistic options, a member of the team asked the question that reframed the brief:
"What if our new logo incorporated Morse code?" — Gaurav, Senior Engineer
The room paused. The idea was unconventional. It was also, on second look, uncommonly aligned with what we believed about communication — that the most powerful language is often the one most tightly engineered.
Why Morse Code
Morse code is one of the earliest forms of long-distance communication. It is structured, decodable and lean, every signal is meaningful, every silence is intentional. It captured something we wanted to express about our practice: clarity, discipline and a respect for the receiver of the message.
The choice also gave us something rare in modern brand design, a hidden message. The mark spells the company name in Morse code. Anyone who decodes it is, in a small way, in on the story.
What the Mark Represents
- Innovation beneath simplicity — engineering choices that reward closer reading
- Inclusion and curiosity — anyone who looks more carefully becomes part of the story
- Heritage and forward motion — a centuries-old system, rendered in a modern visual language
A Statement of Identity, Not a Visual Update
We launched the new mark with no fanfare. The most important brand decisions rarely need fanfare. The work speaks. The mark is a small daily reminder of who we are building for and how we choose to communicate concisely, intentionally and with respect for the time of the people on the other end of the signal.
Closing Thought
A logo is not a strategy. It is a discipline made visible. Our mark reminds us, every time we use it, that engineering at its best is a form of communication and that the clearest signal is the one engineered to be received.
